  • The Bath Cave, I need Zen. When I was a little girl, this room seemed very large. Today, I need the "rest" in the room! Pros: the room is well ventilated with large window. Cons: storage over the toilet is inadequate, the vanity and toilet are awkwardly set. Original floor design appears to be set in concrete needs deep clean to bring out the inset design. The shower/bath are enclosed in a cave like structure. Poor ventilation here. Interesting architectual design though.I see this room in black and brilliant white. • Kitchen remodel by Grandmother, 60's kitchen designed and remodeled by Grandma herself from the ready-to-assemble cabinets sheetrocking oak trimwork and granite tile counter & backsplash; to installing the kitchen sink and new appliances. The compound miter saw cordless drill and Grandma really got a workout but what a difference replacing the old hood and cooktop with a downdraft range made in opening up the room! And everything is in neutral colors except the red removable accents., Kitchens Design

  • Kitchen Says Bye-Bye to Sad Electric Stove, Our kitchen facelift was prompted by a sink that never looked clean and a really sad electric stove that had tilted heating elements for a "less than enjoyable" cooking experience. Now we have a five-burner gas cooktop that I love and a stainless sink that shines like the sun. We also installed granite countertops all stainless appliances and had our white cabinets painted with a two-step faux finish. Thank you sad stove for making this all possible!, Kitchens Design

  • Studer's DIY, We went from shabby chic cottage(emphasis on shabby) to what we refer to as our transitional dream kitchen! We had a small budget so we did most of it ourselves. It was our first attempt and we think it was a success! We did have help with the plumbing, electrical and drywall, some of which was needed due to the previous owner's DIY attempts. Maple cabinets, scabos travertine backsplash, granite counter tops and laminate floors. We splurged on our appliances but many of our "finds" we got with online auctions. We love to sit at the counter and have dinner just so we can enjoy our new view. A great way to start retirement. Please rate and let me know what you think.
Thank you to Armoured Plumbing, Royer Construction and Grand Kitchen and Bath. , Kitchens Design

  • I cant believe it's mine!, To go from a kitchen, of 12 years, that two people could hardly turn around in to this...is really hard to believe. Now when all of the family comes over, we can all be in the same area. I love the light and open concept. All of the furniture and most accessories I have collected from garage sales/and area flea markets. It is such a blast to make that find., Kitchens Design

  • Red Dragon Modern Kitchen, Open, light-filled and efficient kitchen with red dragon granite. We have shades-in-glass for the view and sunlight. I was able to include my dream of a "plant sink," and a drain in the floor to water the plants under the SouthEast Window.

I'm the luckiest person I know and was able to design my dream for Thanksgiving cooking. The kitchen proved itself last month when we fed 30 plus family members. There are 2 ovens (one of which is actually a two-in-one), 2 dishwashers, stainless sinks with built in drainboards, a built in soap dispenser, a glass stove top with down draft vent, tons of windows, a 9 foot island eat-in bar and counter top, a built in plumbed coffee pot in one of the 3 appliance garages, a stainless steel armoire-style refrigerator. There's even a door to the garage in the pantry, so I don't have to carry groceries up the stairs.

It's still a work in progress, even 5 months after we moved in.

  • Coronado Galley Kitchen, We took a 7x11 galley kitchen into a 7 x 16 by taking down a wall and moving the laundry/mud room. Ours was an all original 1935 kitchen that had never been touched. We raised the old laundry floor up to level with the kitchen floor and knocked down two walls, one from the diningroom and the one that was the laundry/mud room., Kitchens Design

  • Breezy fence and yard created out of donated plants and rocks, Custom fence to catch the nice breezes stained the fence. Used Craig's List to pick up free plants flowers and sod and limestone rocks....even the Kataba tree was free. I am designing new shutters and trying to figure out what color to paint the house. Ideas? The bush in front of the windows block out the 100 degree temperatures for now until I can afford thermal windows., Yards Design
