I created this dining room off my kitchen for a total of $200.00. This includes everything you see in the room except the 3 framed pictures which were a gift from my father. I purchase most items from the Salvation Army and Habitat for humanity thrift stores. The fake fireplace was purchased for 18.00, painted white and a mirror installed in the back. The kitchen table was purchased as it is for 23.00. I did not have to do anything to it as it is old and looks naturally distressed. The chairs were purchased for 15.00 each and painted white, then recovered.

I just looked at your bathroom and thought I would check out your other pictures and this is equally as beautiful. Love how you repurpose items. This proves you do not have to spend a lot to have a beautiful home.

Here's a general guideline for hanging pictures. 1. Measure the length of the pic and mark the halfway point. 2. Measure 60" from the floor and mark it. Line the two marks up and that is the height at which to hang the pic.

Thank you!! I was wondering if the pictures were too high. So I will definetly lower them. I really made out on the light fixture. It was reg. price $240.00 but I purchased it on clearance at Lowe's for $44.00. Thank you for all your comments. They have really helped and have encouraged me to do the next room, a small office.

Very Nice job... your sweat equity really paid off... the room looks very inviting. Your palette can go in so many color directions... for whatever the occassion...!! I agree, if you lower the pictures.. just a little.. they will be very much appreciated... standing or sitting... Next time you have a special occassion, post pictures... I would love to see what adding dinnerware and other decor items look like. My imagination, is running wild...!! Thanks for sharing.. I can't even comment on the buget... except to say, you and I need to go shopping together... Lol...

Your entire room is gorgeous! I just love how everything coordinates so well. I really love that light fixture, too. But the faux fireplace really makes the room. You'll have to post pics when you decorate it for the holidays - it must be amazing. Great job! 5 stars!
