Our home was built in the early 60's, so it definately has the mid century modern look going for it, except the original cramped formal dining room. We came up with an idea to make the small room appear much larger than it is. One wall was completely done with a mirror, so we left that. On the wall opposite the mirror, I hung a black and white bold print wallpaper to add dimension. The other two walls were painted black to add drama. When you enter the dining room you immediately see the wallpaper through the mirror. We added a new chandelier to add some bling, along with a mirrored wall sculpture. I found a pewter colored credenza at a second hand store. Decorated the top with a contemporary glass lamp and some crystal and turquoise decor pieces. All in all we think our room came out very nice and on a small budget as well.
