About This Space

Hi - This is our dining room that we recently repainted. I know the color might not be for everyone but we love color in our home and so I went for it. While it worked well for Spring and Summer, I have having trouble decorating for fall. The style is a bit eclectic as well but I am hoping that this pulled together. in the end. I am open to suggestion- like should I hang something above each of the turquoise chairs.
I appreciate your thoughts.

Actually I like the idea about swapping out the drapes. I have a gold and red pair. I will try them out and post another picture to see what you think. And I agree about the rug! I just need to wait until I can afford a new one!

You have a lot going on in the room decoration wise. Unless you would remove the two globes from the sideboard I would not add anything above the two chairs. I, too, like the green wall color.

I love your dining room! My one suggestion for change is that the rug does not go and I would replace it (when you can with a brighter, larger rug that is in a blue/white print (or even just a solid blue. As for the wall area over your darling turquoise chairs - I would look for 6 mismatched white plates in your local thrift stores and hang those on the wall, 3 on each side stacked above each other. You might even mix in a couple of large white platters if you find them. I would stick with either all white or blue/white plates and platters. For your fall decor, remember you can use autumn leaves, apples, pears, pumpkins and all gourds, acorns and nuts of all kinds, and pinecones. You can make a long, narrow box out of old wood, then fill it with these fall items and place it in the center of your table with candles (the LED kind are best. You could also use any kind of large tray you may already have.

I wonder.........how would you feel about swapping out the drapes, just during the cold weather? I'm thinking a pattern in green, gold, orange/rust, red.
