Okay,first things first...get rid of the drapes.too heavy and out-dated.The mirrors need to do as well.Add some pops of color and you'll be good to go.Oh,and maybe a large rug under the table...

This is a nice, large dining room and just needs a little bit of tweaking. I would suggest removing all the rugs to reveal that beautiful floor. The rugs are all too small anyway and at some point you could get a much larger one that is at least 2-3 feet larger than your dining set on all sides to allow for the chairs to stay on the rug when people are seated at the table. Next, I'd suggest replacing your existing curtains with just some straight panels - no valances as they are no longer in style. May I also suggest some colored fabric for your curtain panels? A pretty burgundy would add some much needed life in here. Remove all the knick-knacks from the window ledge and remove the arched mirrors. Then find a large buffet or sideboard to place on the mirrored wall and a framed mirror to hang above it. Lots of potential here!

You have a conflict of styles going on. The frilly curtains do not go with the modern dining set. Straight panels in a solid color would be much nicer. The rugs are haphazard and all to small for the area. I do not like the mirrors nor the centerpiece or large flower arrangement in the corner. The room has a nice big window and the room itself is a nice size. These are just my opinions. If you are happy with the room that is all that counts.
