  • Just Moved In--WHAT TO DO?????, Need help--desperately! After 8 years of marriage we finally have our first home. We could never buy with the military always moving us but finally my Soldier husband has some stability. SO EXCITED to be in here but have no idea how to furnish it. Picked out a big area rug and it didn't match the style or color tones AT ALL. Now deflated and nervous about trying again. How do I set this room up? Floors are cherry hardwood, fireplace is black with traditional white detail, and that box cutout above the fireplace--do I fill that in, put in a widescreen with a shelf above it...? What kind of seating arrangement? Window treatments or no? Lighting? Thanks for any and all help. So want this place to look stellar!!!, Living Rooms Design

  • Great Room, This House was a complete gut! We took down the 2 walls that separated the kitchen, living room and dining room to create a great room! We wanted a wide open space that could seat a lot of people comfortably without being overbearing for entertaining and parties. I used a lot of nontraditional but functional eclectic details to keep the room from being to stuffy and traditional and all the decor is based around family! , Kitchens Design

  • Urban Modern Bedroom, We rent a 608 sq ft one bedroom heavy timber loft in a 1920’s shoe factory. Our bedroom is 9' by 10' and also serves as our home office. We took advantage of the extra space in our bedroom closet to stash away two computers two printers a router scanner and supplies. The result is a relaxing minimalist bedroom which doubles as an office and keeps our work behind closed doors., Bedrooms Design

  • Beach living, Living room and dining areas are connected so I want to create a good "flow:" My main question what color to paint the walls. Keep the orangey/red (as it is the same color in the kitchen) or paint a dark brown. Should the wall with the windo be pained the same dark color. The space is really open and i want it a warmer feel. I'm looking for a tv and coffee stand that are more matching as well. Love the earth tones and simple lines but don't mind some funky piecs., Living Rooms Design

  • Modern Living Room, It isn't complete but wanted to see what people would say about our living room. We have so many plans for it, first is to take the ugly carpet and put in hardwoods. I think that would make a huge difference but for now we have to live with it

Update: I am so excited that our bamboo floors are in and they look stunning. Since we were getting rid of the carpet I decided to paint the walls as well. I feel that the colors we chose are so much welcoming and warm up the space. Sitting my living room now make me feel relaxed and sophisticated. What do you think?

There are still accessories that I am planning on buying but for now I am just enjoying it because it was a hell of a week., Living Rooms Design

  • Magazine inspired livingroom, After 2 years of trying to find things to blend with my white couches I went to a few stores (Home Goods Macys Furniture Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn) and found a lot! I was inspired by looking at several Crate and Barrel catalogs and kept in line with my favorite earth tone colors. I still want to purchase a table to go in the corner between the 2 couches so it's still in the works :-) I'm extremely excited with the results so far and I hope everyone enjoys!, Living Rooms Design

IKEA chairs finish off the simple look because it’s easy to wash the chair covers! What should we do about a rug or curtains?, Dining Rooms Design
