This was a quick fix up to make a comfortable spot for frequent out of town guests. We keep all of our grandparent heirlooms in here and theres a tucked away craft room in the closet.

This is our small blue living room that I did in a travel theme with our unique treasures from our own frequent trips. It was a challenge with four doors, one window and a wood stove.

This kitchen was updated using high end, solid wood cabinets obtained on craigslist and renovated to fit into my 10 x 11 kitchen. A wall was removed to open the space to the living area and the footprint expanded to enable more workspace.

Grace's room is 10 X 10. Clearly a tiny bedroom! She and I collaborated on her room this summer. I finished it while she was in Europe. Since her sister is away at college, she could move to the bigger room, but she likes her small space! Like many of us, money is a concern for me (kids in college! so I worked hard to stay on budget and I did!

Medium sized kitchen with awkward cabinets and drawers. It works but does not have optimal space for storage. Great sunlight, love the sink in front of the window. Can't decide on a paint color that would go with the pink laminate countertops. Keep cupboards white or paint? Did I mention that the floor is one piece of whatever and not secured down all around so I can actually lift edges of the floor (and found old owner's dog food under there?

I have a very confused living room. Nitches I don't know what to do with, old paneling mixed with new accents, and no idea for flooring! We love the beams and tall ceiling but that's about it! We have a hard time mixing modern with lodge living to create a cozy space utilizing the log walls.

I wanted to do something fun for my son's bathroom, but didn't want to do anything to permanent. The mural & decals can all easily be removed. I used the same espresso trim throughout the entire upstairs, so I needed to make that color work for his bathroom.

Heres an updated look at our living room. Its pretty much complete now and of course now that it is I completely want to redecorate! Anyway, we had a teeny tiny budget so most of the stuff is from thrift stores and craigslist and/or handmade. I'm pretty pleased with the space now. Its comfortable but classy with a touch of funky eclectic. I hope you like it!

I got tired of looking at a basically empty room painted in builders white. So my husband and I painted, installed wainscoting, moved the new bed in and used one of my best Ebay purchases ever for the bed linens. We were lucky enough to find some coordinating curtains and a lamp at Target. A little paint to a nightstand we found on craigslist and the room was complete!
Thanks everyone for all your comments & suggestions...decided to add a second panel to each window, a pink pillow on the bed and a canvas above the bed.

This is our living room space, which has been a work in progress. It's full of texture and natural elements (corals on the fireplace mantel, bamboo shades, cozy and soft-to-the-touch microfiber seating.
The large-scale contemporary painting is from a wonderful artist who sells on Ebay (Jen Berry. The couch (Crate and Barrel and distressed leather chaise are finds from Craigslist. The pottery art on the shelves on either side of the painting come from student art sales at our local community college, as well as the plant bust on the table in the corner. (Along with a little Jonathan Adler thrown in with the fish ceramics.
I took color inspiration from the slate fireplace, and threw in a pops of green in the painting and accent pillows. The mirror above the mantle was my grandmother's, I believe from the Deco period. It has a slight pink cast to it.
The wallcolor is Oatmeal, by Ralph Lauren, but I am in the midst of re-painting it a soft and moody grayish blue ocean color -- Linen, Eddie Bauer for Valspar Paint. (I'll post new pics soon.
And I used a lot of glass tables in the room to create more visual space.
I hope you enjoy my space -- I would love to hear your suggestions!
