  • Home Exterior, It's a Craftsman/Cottage home with very large porches. There are 4 porches. One on the front and 3 in the back. The middle back porch is screened in. There are three swings. One ison the front and the other two are out back with one being on the masterbedroom private porch. This home is all about outdoor living. The three sets of french doors across the back will open on to the porches and create more living area outdoors and in. It's all about having a big family.

  • This was an arts & crafts style home that was gut renovated, as it was falling down, but we loved it and tried to restore it., The exterior of the house uses river rock that was existing but everything was grown over. Some of our neighbors didn't realize that there was actually a house behind the vines and trees., Home Exterior Design

  • Front Porch Addition and Landscaping, One of a kind front porch addition with a craftsman style. This Manufactured (Mobile Home) originally came with tan Vinyl Siding that kept buckling. We replaced it with Hardi Plank and built a big, chunky front porch. At first, the porch was overwhelming, but now that we've got the landscaping done and looked at it awhile, it's amazing. The rails will be painted cream color and the top rail will be stained to match ceiling. Also, deck and stairs will be stained to match ceiling. It now looks like a cottage and the acre (at least) of cleared land we used for the yard, looks like a vacation getaway. , Home Exterior Design

  • Craftsman's Front Porch, My front porch has 5 separate spaces. It's also in desperate need of some love. With a sagging wooden floor in 3 different areas, a roof that floods the 2 terra cotta (and hence the 3 wooden) areas, and few working fixtures, it needs a makeover!, Porches Design

  • Outdated, bare kitchen, This is a kitchen that looks as if it was redone in the late 1980's. It has some great features, but very little warmth, outdated cabinetry, sink, appliances, lighting fixtures, etc. The walls are an awful light blue, and half of the kitchen isn't being used for anything right now! The linoleum is stained, torn, and in desperate need of replacing..., Kitchens Design

  • Cape Cod to Craftsman, We love the porch and could not be happier. We are just thrilled with this transition. The most amazing part is that the house is still the same width, but looks much bigger.

Thank you all for the kind comments. You have no idea what we have gone through to accomplish this. We were ripped off by the first contractor and have been sleeping in our living room since the spring of 2005! I think we will finally be using the new space in about another month.

We had a big beautiful elm tree on our parkway. The trees are what attracted us to the neighborhood so it broke our hearts when it began to show signs of trouble. We tried everything to save it, but after several years it finally died. We replaced it with a Ginko as they are supposed to be very disease resistant. , Home Exterior Design

  • Awesome inside......awful outside, Our late 70's 1.5 story has been completely update inside, but the front of this family home is so BORING it puts the squirrels to sleep! We would LOVE a Craftsman look, but this house is nowhere close. Is it possible to add styling cues to take it from bland to grand? What do you think of the present look? Somebody give us some ideas!!, Home Exterior Design

  • Elegant Bricked Front Porch, Using old Chicago street pavers for the entry walk and porch, this colonial style home evokes a sense of old southern charm. The varied color and texture of the authentic paving brick are crucial to the period flavor and elegance. The reddish tones of the brick provide a rich contrast to the sage green siding. The wrought iron cafe table and chairs play up the southern colonial style even though this home is actually just 26 miles south of Chicago in Frankfort, IL, Porches Design

  • Craftsman Bungalow front porch Remodel, The front porch will need to be replaced. We will keep the pillars and porch fence but everything else needs to be replaced. The house was sinking and has been raised so the stairs also have to be replaced. I would like to do a tiered walkway with the stairs but not sure if it would work. Needs landscaping. Thank you for any ideas you might have. , Patios & Decks Design

  • Craftsman style affordable living room, This is my front living room from a few angles. I was an awkward room to decorate because the front door is in the middle of the room. (you know what I mean) The scale of the furniture had to be small enough/or big enough not to block off the front door and overwhelm people when they walk in the front door. Also, there are 4 entries into the room with 2 of the entries being double French doors. I love it and hope you do to! Rate it!, Living Rooms Design
