  • English Cottage Garden in Utah!, When I fulfilled a lifetime dream of traveling to England, I was enchanted by their cottage gardens. They were so lovely and informal - with herbs and vegetable all mixed in together. Another clever idea was they were frequently located in the front entry, instead of grass! I now have a English Cottage Garden as I walk up to my front door. Who would have guessed I could bring a little of England home with me?., Gardens Design

  • Itty Bitty Kitty Cottage, In January of this year, my husband and I purchased our first home - a cottage built in 1909. Believe it or not, this property is located just two miles outside of downtown Pittsburgh! When we first bought it, the yard was overrun with trees and shrubs, as no one had occupied the home for two years. We broke two chainsaws trying to tear down the overgrowth, then gave up and hired a stump grinder. We ended up painting pretty much every surface on the exterior except for the siding, and even parts of that needed repaired. Just as we got everything done and looking great, our sewage line broke and a team of professionals came in to tear up our porch and replace pipes. It was miserable, but all is well again., Home Exterior Design

  • No space to grow, I've always loved cottage style and the relaxed feel it has. I've lived in this home for 30 years and have planted and replanted just about every inch that I can get my hands on. We have lots of shade so I had to create a small flower garden on the 5 foot strip of ground which gets full sun along the south side of the house., Home Exterior Design

  • Before & After of our 1925 Cottage, Here are before & After pictures of our 1925 cottage purchase in February of this year. We have worked long and hard on the cottage and still so much more to do.

I knew the minute we drove past to look at it, that I wanted it. My husband and I could really bring her back to what she should be. We just love this little cottage all of 850 sq ft. Can't wait for the spring so we can put up a white picket fence and gate, bring in some trees and plant some flowers..., Home Exterior Design

  • Cozy Cottage Porch Makeover, The porch of my Victorian cottage was enclosed back in the 20s. I painted it white with a blue ceiling, refinished the hardwood floors, added a custom built daybed and lots of blue and white. The shelving holds my ironstone and aqua mason jars and bottles, and seagrass baskets are used for storage. A Dash and Albert outdoor rug withstands heavy traffic. The Starfish pillow is from local artist Willywaw. Vintage french grain sacks are used as pillow cases. Since the porch is south facing it gets great sun and warms up enough in winter so we can use it year round!, Porches Design

  • Cottage Beach House, We just built our dream beach house in Port Aransas, Texas. My husband and I designed the layout while I had a blast designing the interiors with the help of my daughter. We will eventually rent the house to vacationers and Texas snowbirds, while spending our own special moments here with our family and friends., Other Spaces Design

  • Periwinkle Porches, My cottage has 3 porches in all. One is a balcony . It has french doors into the bedroom gothic style arch & big ceiling fan for hot summer nights. It gives me a birds eye view of my little village and overlooks the park. The front porch just below the balcony houses and old porcelain stove we use as a potting bench & storage. The back porch has yet to claim it's identity. All have gingerbread rails and white wicker seating., Porches Design

  • Peace and Tranquility in our Back Yard, My husband and I transferred a 2 acre property into a combination of Country Gardens with the feel of the North Woods. Combining many different combinations of plants: Yellow, Green, Blue evergreens, with Roses, Weigela, Rhododendrons, Hydrandea and flowering perennials. The tranquility of the 100ft stream we installed running down one side of the property sets the stage "Peace and Tranquility" in our own Back Yard. , Yards Design
