this farmhouse kitchen is in a 100 year old home. It was very plain and did not really have much in the way of style. A young couple rent the home. It was my job to transform the kitchen with a budget less then $1000. Because this is a rental I wanted to keep it very simple. There was a lot of labor and re-purposing involved more then actual shopping in a store. For the how to's and additional info visit my blog:
French doors from our main entrance living room lead into the small dining room of our 1920's brick bungalow. The dining room has a built in cabinet and an old entrance was turned into an enclosed green room in the 50's. We refinished the original hardwoods in the dining room to add warmth and had new clean ceilings put up to cover the old popcorn. The wall art work was made by me and my husband.

We bought this home four years ago and loved that it was all brick.. The brick was a little dated looking however and had some stains. We "antiqued" it by applying a whitewash (lime and salt mix. We are really happy with the results.

Our tiny little 1913 apartment is full of charming vintage details and we wanted to let that shine while adding in our own personalities. It's a little vintage, a little modern, a little quirky and all us. :

Side entrance leads into a dedicated stairwell for the library. There is a landscaped yard beyond hanging baskets of flowers a river birch tree and a 100 ft. dry creek bed.

This is my first designing job for....well myself! I bought my first 1 Bedroom Condo in the city a couple of years ago and is still in the process of designing it. So far it's about 80% completed. I welcome any input or suggestions anyone might have. Thank you! :

We fell in love with our home the moment we set eyes on it. A charming gazebo was built for our daughter's wedding that compliments the house. We enjoy creating different garden spaces around the house an ongoing project!

Our attempt at understated, feminine elegance without the typical pink palette. This room was designed for a ballet loving, rambunctious 3-year old who will hopefully love it just as much when she is 15. Complete with built-in bookcases, an upholstered window seat, and a petite chandelier...we were even able to squeeze in space for a table with tea set for four, despite cozy dimensions and a challenging ceiling. A large patterned yellow damask wallpaper covers the walls, and hints of pinks and greens are brought in through striped fabrics in the curtains. A vintage, shabby chic dresser was first used as a changing table. We hope you like this space!!

Sweet and charming airy bedroom. Notice the unique metal with fabric light fixture and the one of a kind fabric covered lampshade. What do you think of the bright green bamboo tray on the bedside table? The fabric on the pillows and the lampshade are from Christie Brinkley's fabric line and it's called "Beachglass". I sewed the pillows and covered the lampshade.

I created a sanctuary for myself up on one of the Great Lakes. I live in LA so having a serene environment to escape to was the source of my design inspiration. White slipcovers are machine washable and keep the mood light. My color scheme was inspired by the view outside my windows - the lake the beach and the sky.
