This is my very small kitchen in my very small cottage in the Hollywood Hills. I remodeled the kitchen about 2 years ago. This remodel inspired me to start my own interior design website called Cococozy (http://www.cococozy.com.
The kitchen now features CaesarStone countertops, glass upper and lower cabinets from Ikea, a great deep Kohler stainless undermount sink, a modern brushed stainless KWC faucet and spray and a backsplash made of glass and porcelain Porcelanosa large wall tiles. I went with stainless appliances to compliment the trim on the cabinet doors and the backsplash.
Before, the kitchen featured white tile counter tops, old crooked wood cabinets and a country style console provided counter space and storage under the kitchen's bay window.
The goal of the remodel was to simplify and clean up the lines in the space to make the kitchen design feel cohesive and modern.

We purchased our outdated 1964 home 10 years ago and have been remodeling it slowly. We recently finished the kitchen/laundry addition. One of the main drawbacks of our home was the fact that there was no laundry room. The washer and dryer were previously located in a small closet off of the main hallway.
After much thought, we decided to include the washer/dryer in the new kitchen area. We'd seen this many times in European homes and decided it would be a good fit for us as well. So far, I've really enjoyed it. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and it has been really handy! Also the high counter tops over the washer/dryer makes a great buffet area, easily accessible to the patio area (coming soon...
By far, the most difficult item for me to pick out was the counter tops. I really love the look of cement but was nervous to use it because it's not as durable. After months of looking at different materials we finally decided on quartz counter tops by Caesarstone in Raven. Hard to tell in the photos, but it's a very soft black/deep gray. We went with stained concrete for my table though and I absolutely LOVE it! In fact, it's my favorite part of the kitchen!
I've spent countless hours both watching HGTV and browsing here on the website getting ideas for the remodel. RATE MY SPACE was the source of much inspiration and I've been looking forward to finally adding my own photos to it :
Our goal was to create a warm, cozy kitchen area that all four of us could enjoy. Used warm colors to help counter the LONG, gray Oregon days. We're happy with the results!
Thanks for taking a look :

Very small budget. We did almost all the work ourselves, including design and building the barstool, table/chairs and bench. We painted existing cabinets and added new cabinets and quartz countertops (no granite!! with wine rack for extra space and storage. It's part of an overall total house remodel, so we maintained the exposed, stained concrete floors throughout (very easy to clean. Cheerful, Earthtone colors with accent match the rest of the house. We just wanted it to look less "Kitcheny".

It is finally done. Demo day was July 24th. Eight long months, we did all the work ourselves, but so worth it. It is now the area of our home we all gravitate to. The camera didn't quite capture the colors correctly. The cabinets are more brown than orange and the walls are a dark tan. Thanks for looking!

Our 60-year old, non-functioning kitchen had to go, and we replaced it with a modern, streamlined kitchen that we built on a budget. We designed our kitchen on IKEA.com and saved a ton of money assembling the cabinets ourselves. We have Caesarstone quartz countertops in Raven, a white glass and stone mosaic backsplash, stainless steel appliances and a porcelain plank tile that looks like hardwood. We built a closet to hide our washer and dryer and created a feature wall using chalkboard paint and a vinyl monogram decal to top it off. Fresh, new lighting and paint finishes off the space. We absolutely love it!

The ultimate in blue and white classic spa design. I used a combination of blue paint on the walls; white DeWils vanity; white porcelain sinks; chrome Moen fixtures; Cambria quartz ("Torquay" on the countertop, top of half walls and window sill - which is an understated cream complemented by swirls of gray and tan Artistic Tile forms the wall art (white marble and Calacatta Gold marble seamless tile Swarovski crystals interspersed with white glass tiles in the tub surround; and white marble porcelain tiles on the shower walls and floor. The Swarovski crystal chandelier in chrome over the bathtub in front of the London shade completes the look. It's an elegant bath - definitely my "personal" space where I go to relax and enjoy life!

This is a small kitchen, but we have made it feel larger by removing 3 walls. We used unfinished mission style cabinets and stock trim from our local box store. Shelf brackets and furniture feet made by hand. I was then able to paint everything to match. The chandelier is oil rubbed bronze with glass, and the knobs are antique reproduction glass with oil rubbed screws in the center. I found the Waterworks apron front farm sink on Craiglist... what a steal! My husband put the switch for the insinkerator in the toe kick under the sink. Once we heard how hard it is to maintain carrara marble, we decided to go with Caesarstone Quartz Countertops in Misty Carrara. We love them!

The kitchen in our 1958 home was long overdue for a total renovation. The appliances were outdated, storage was inadequate, and the adjoining wall separating the dining room was closing in the space from the views to the atrium and pool.

This was an all black bathroom with a sunken black tile tub. We saved the cabinets and painted them white from dark knotty pine. We also recycled the mirrors and the ones we did not re-use we had cut and placed in the panels of the medicine cabinets. The countertops are Caesarstone Misty Carrera. We also put indirect"mood lighting" on a dimmer around the tub and shower area.

This small kitchen (approx. 11'x12' had the original cabinets, ceramic tile countertop set into a thick concrete base, and laminate flooring. Six months after I moved into this house, I demolished the kitchen by myself, and designed a more updated kitchen with modern finishes and "magical" colors. I used quartz solid surface countertops (Caesarstone in a cool blue tone with sparkley mirror chips, frameless cherry veneer cabinets for a very streamlined look (using mostly drawers instead of shelves in the base cabinets, 1"x1" irridescent glass tile backsplash to pick up the color of the countertops, all stainless steel appliances, and a porcelain tile floor that has the look of concrete, since I also wanted a slightly industrial-looking space.

Our kitchen is a modern country kitchen. We loved the look (and flavor of our KraftMaid Irish cream and chocolate cabinets. Our floor is chocolate brown. Our backsplash is ultra modern and our glass block wall mimics the pattern in the backsplash. Our ceiling is beadboard painted the color of the cabinets with chocolate stained beams. Our countertops are low maintenance LG quartz and we think they really are set off by all our oiled bronzed accents (lighting, hardware and our Jenn Air appliances. We added a desk from World Market that we took the legs off, added some angled wall mounted supports we found in the stairs section of Menards (so we wouldn't be kicking the legs and it was serendipity that the spindles almost perfectly matched our drawer pulls. It took a year to makeover. We did everything ourselves except for about a day of electrical (we rewired the entire house but my husband worked with the electrician as his assistant and designer the entire day.

long overdue 80's kitchen remodel. To keep within a good budget, worked with as much existing structure and flooring as possible. Several key structural changes moved a door within inches but makes massive space improvements. Took out wall from 4-season room to kitchen and kept the vault. So much for the standard midwest 2-story layout!
