So....my very thoughtful Hubs made me a perfect chocolatini the other night which inspired me to "chocolate up" the decor with chocolate, latte, mocha and cream colored accessories! I'm loving the warm, chocolatey feel all around.....guess we can get our inspiration from just about anywhere! Cheers!

My son is now 2 1/2, so it was time to update his baby room to make it geared toward his interests now as a 2 1/2 year old - he loves to surf, skateboard and stand-up paddle, so I wanted to make a fun space for him to hang out!

Juicy Couture is one of my favourite fashion brands, so with a few ideas and inspirations, I turned my Blue Girl room into a funky, girly, Juicy Couture themed bedroom.

This room was blue when I moved in. I painted it hot pink!! The pink was different but it hurt my head after a while. SO back to blue, but a better blue. I painted the ceiling dark brown partly as an experiment to see if I would like it, and partly to hide the imperfections, cracks, bumps, and glued on stars!!! Turns out, I do love a brown ceiling and have since painted the bedroom ceiling and will soon paint the bathroom. Anyone thinking about painting a ceiling dark brown....don't be afraid!! Although I must say, I think white crown molding is a must in such an endeavor.
So anyway, this is my favorite room so far but I am open to any suggestions you may have. Several minds are better than one.

Spa like on a small budget, from old and plain. My son and daughter in law recently bought a new home. They asked me to redo their bathroom. They wanted shades of brown and that is what they got. It was a good size bathroom but it had a lot of wasted space. I gutted the room and while doing so I found an open space beside the tub in which I added a wonderful built in storage space. The tub was taken out and replaced with a shower. The counter site was moved to the side wall and doubled in size. The cabinets have tilt outs and the silent close feature. The cabinet on the right has a laundry shoot to the laundry room below. The cabinets and granite counter top were a wonderful find for their budget. They could have easily spent most of their budget on just the cabinet and counter top. The counter top is St. Cecilia with a beautiful edge and under mount sink. Everything in the bathroom is new and it was all done for $ 1,600.00. I love shopping for bargains. It really pays to shop around when doing a remodel.

Kitchen update without cost and mess of remodeling! We painted the cabinets and added raised panel molding, quartz countertops, tile backsplash, new lighting and accessories.

I wanted a nursery that my daughter could sleep and play in but that I enjoyed being in as well. This space is something she can grow in. I love coming in here because its just so comfy! The furniture is pottery barn and partially inspired the decor. All of the paint is Ethos but matched to Benjamin Moore colors. The wall paint is Pink Cherub, the ceiling is candy stripe, the wall behind the crib, animals and polka dots are Kona. The hot pink accents on the mural are rhododendron. I found images for the mural from etsy and then projected them on the wall and traced them and painted them. The pom poms are from etsy as well. The glider is used but I found slipcovers online for $200 so now its Ivory! The shelves are from Home Depot. If you have additional questions as to where I got something, just let me know :

Two little princesses started with a plain light gray room. With the purchase of new bunk beds & new polka dot bedding, we needed something girly to jazz up the new space. We taped off horizontal stripes to coordinate, and the attached bath uses polka dots in the coordinating colors and the same princess theme. It uses bubble gum pink, lime green, light teal/turquoise, and tan/khaki. The wall of baskets was pricey but is invaluable storage for toys and such. The whole project was kid-friendly and fun and on a budget.

When we started thinking of nurseries for Emma, we wanted something that she could "grow up with"... something that she could possibly like as she gets older and doesn't grow out of once she became a toddler. We didn't want something too young, or with a specific theme. Instead we chose colors and worked around there. Once we picked the bedding, we were able to stem out from that. I'm a DIY fanatic - so a lot of the things in here are DIY'ed by myself. We moved to our current home when Emma had just turned a year old, so it's not as "young" as it was before, we've added a few big girl elements, but it's still our little girl's room!
