About This Space

This is my 8 year old sons room. We just redid it. He is into indiana jones and wanted an adventurous feel. This room is small just 9x11. We did it on a VERY small budget. The furniture is over 30 years old. It was my brothers when he was a kid. The nightstand is an old trunk turned on it's side. The wall treatment is a bamboo blind I bought for $10 and cut off. The rest of it I used as a runner on the dresser. We still hope to find some more access. and pics.

This is my favourite boy's room of them all. Love the creative headboard ( style-wise and money-wise together with the fresh striped sheets which ties in with the old furniture and brings it up to date and looks fresh. This is smart decorating. The chest as a night table is clever too. Not overdone and not too theme/cute. Great warm colours. Five stars as it is inspirational, simple and on budget.

I really love this unique boys room. I might try this when my son is a little older. I would have never thought to use everyday objects in the ways you have here. The chest turned on end and the bamboo shade is great. I know your son has to love it!!!
