This almost 4 x 8 walk-in closet was done for my 4.5 year old daughter. Whenever I told her to clean her room, she'd make the room spotless and deposit all the riffraff in the closet, usually on the floor. This space-saving closet redo (by me using Container Store products provides easy-access storage for her clothes and prescious dresses AND a great little art studio/desk area away from baby brothers prying fingers!

I created a sanctuary for myself up on one of the Great Lakes. I live in LA so having a serene environment to escape to was the source of my design inspiration. White slipcovers are machine washable and keep the mood light. My color scheme was inspired by the view outside my windows - the lake the beach and the sky.

The great clients of this gorgeous coastal estate allowed us to design their property in the same exquisite style and manner of their interior environment.
One of the major design components of this design is the grand and majestic Cabana that encompasses multiple functions and areas of luxury retreat. The Cabana has a luxurious restroom and shower, with an elegant changing room that even has personal lockers for guests to use! Also included under the roof of the Cabana is a large dining room, an opulent cook center, and a quaint fireplace room with optimum views of the ocean and coastline. Some of the other fantastic amenities include multiple pottery fountains, a fabulous pool and infinity spa, and large dining and lounge patios. Also included in this estate grounds is an area for the clients 'secret' garden, an elegant and functional citrus and vegetable terrace garden, and even a sheltered courtyard with a grand fireplace that is framed by matching elegant pottery fountains

In this extra bedroom turned library, I combined dark cocoa colored walls, modern translucent book shelves, heavy wooden pieces, open-weave wool curtains and a mid-century-style sofa which unfolds flat for extra guest sleeping accomodation.

In this second story, double height, TV/family room, the ceilings were brought down to a comfortable scale with the addition of a large Japanese paper lantern. An eclectic mix and lots of pillows and cherished items lend this room big comfort.

My porch was going to be my next project, but in order to save money, I decided to not buy anything new and try to find things I had around the house to make this space be a continuation of the rest of the house decor. So, I had a can of spray paint and began moving things around! Our family loves to surf and stand-up paddle so I put the stand-up paddle book on the shelf. All the candles in lanterns light up, so it's warm and inviting in the evening. I spray painted some of the planters and the table black. So, this is definitely a work-in-progress and uncompleted until I find something else!
