  • Kielan's Surf / Skate Room!!, My son is now 2 1/2, so it was time to update his baby room to make it geared toward his interests now as a 2 1/2 year old - he loves to surf, skateboard and stand-up paddle, so I wanted to make a fun space for him to hang out! , Boys' Rooms Design

  • Fabulous Relaxing Brown & Blue Office, This room was blue when I moved in. I painted it hot pink!! The pink was different but it hurt my head after a while. SO back to blue, but a better blue. I painted the ceiling dark brown partly as an experiment to see if I would like it, and partly to hide the imperfections, cracks, bumps, and glued on stars!!! Turns out, I do love a brown ceiling and have since painted the bedroom ceiling and will soon paint the bathroom. Anyone thinking about painting a ceiling dark brown....don't be afraid!! Although I must say, I think white crown molding is a must in such an endeavor.
So anyway, this is my favorite room so far but I am open to any suggestions you may have. Several minds are better than one., Home Offices Design

  • Blue Simplicitiy, This Blue Simplicity space a.k.a. my living room is one of my many great ideas that I turned in to reality. My intension was to have a simple and low profile style. I started by having an off white low profile sectional couch with a chair. I added bright blue, baby blue, and white pillows to bring color to this plain set. The blue squared pattern rug complimented the pillows. Next, I added a glass coffee table and glass corner table, both with chrome legs to compliment the chrome bottom trim and legs of the couch set. To compliment the height of the room, I added a tall five-branch nickel brushed lamp and purposely hung up silver floating frames way up. These floating frames have blue digital abstract design to keep the theme modern and to again compliment the color scheme of the room. As a great way to make the room bigger, I added frameless mirrors on one side of the wall. Of course what would a bachelor place be without a nice set of surround sound and an LCD screen. Keeping the low profile scheme, I had to make sure that my speakers are low profile and not bulky; same with the LCD, a bigger or bulkier screen would’ve been not good.

This is what coming home is all about after a long day of work; nice and relaxing! I’ve had plenty of comments for my space from friends and family. Now it’s for the public to enjoy and critic. All comments are welcome. Thank you for visiting my space.

  • Cottage Blue Designs Home Office, I now can't wait to go to work! I beg my husband to take the kids to the playground so that I can steal away and be in my space! I chose colors that I love: blue and green! I put pieces in the room that I LOVE the seaglass mirror to the bright green bamboo tray to the bar stools that I covered in a fun blue and green striped fabric at the craft table.I feel so inspired in this room. I create room make over design plans for my clients in my home office. Not to mention sewing, crafting, writing my blog, and so much more! When can I go back to my home office? I still want to change the paint color and hang some more wall art- it's definitely a "work in progress".

  • Beachy Modern Living Room , I've been moving things around here quite a bit lately:) I finally found the perfect spot for our tiki-hut - it as a little bit too big for the entrance and wasn't very functional there. We have a lot of people over, so it's perfect to keep the glass water container on it all the time now. We also got new ceiling fans - it's very hot here in Hawaii, and I wanted the fans to look more tropical so I got the woven leaf look. We added more seating and changed a few more things around:), Living Rooms Design

  • Modern and Organized Office/Crafts Room!, It took me three months to design my crafts room and office. I looked for versatile storage, that was neat and organized and easily accessible. I wanted the paint to be bold and vibrant, but not annoying. I also created various areas in the room for certain crafts like; scrapbooking, gift wrapping, painting, sewing, and bow making. I love this room and spend hours everyday creating! , Home Offices Design

Pretty and clean compared to previous owner's nastiness (check out the before picture to see what we started with but we did completely strip out the fixtures and gross carpet and lived with empty space for a year!). • Crawl Space Turned Studio!, Creative use of 4 foot tall crawl/storage space. Formerly our storage - area you have to climb up and in to get into. I needed a studio space. Living in the city and abutted by other buildings...there was no where else to look for extra space! So with 4 feet of unimpeded head room (5 feet between floor joists – I can stand up straight!)...my hobbit hole studio space was created! It has a window, running water, electricity, lights, storage between heating ducts, my bench, work surfaces, anvil, kiln, tools....and all seats on wheels so you don't have to stand very often! You can roll from station to station! Just remember to climb up and crawl in! Believe it or not - it works really well!, Other Spaces Design

  • NAVY NEWNESS, Having a strong neutral base (a palette of grey & brown) has allowed several transformations to occur in our small-space town-home through the past three years - all with the simple switch of textiles and accessories. For this summertime transformation, I reused LY's blue & white pillows (from Out Of The Blue post) with prior years pillow covers and window panels (Mile Marker Memory). I updated a few photos to incorporate more coastal images... and added a few more seashell inspired fillers we've collected from our travels in South Florida (Key West, Key Largo, Naples & Sanibel Island). The new navy accents also relate back to the dining room (Recycled Paint post) walls. Thrifted finds added more personality to the space for a look that has been collected over time... enJOY!, Living Rooms Design

  • What A Dramatic Difference. . . Right? (Befores and Afters), Space Description: Originally my Grandparents 1970's "Vacant" home, I, a single 23 year old guy, bought my house in 2008 and it was a dump in need of a serious remodel. Though the projects never seem to be completly over, I demolished the entire interior of the house and things have turned out amazing. The most significant change made in the kitchen was removing the wall between the living room and kitchen. This allows there to be one large open concept space rather then 2 separate rooms.

Featuring Select 6x24 Veincut Travertine on the floor and a Classic Splitface Mosaic, uniquely found at Old World Stone Imports, people that come in the kitchen can't help but awe. The Counters are Blue Pearl Granite with a chiseled edge to tie in with the the rustic 3D Backsplash. A simple but beautiful trick that I have learned, when it comes to windows in the kitchen, is to simply frame them in Travertine moldings, in this case the Classic Alpha. This allows the window to appear almost as an ever changing picture.

I had custom Cabinets created so that they were designed exactly as I wanted them to be done. The main stain that I picked is also the stain used throughout the entire house on all of the moldings. This allows a simple accent that flows and creates uniformity throughout the entire house. On the island I chose to do a simple black wash to create a unique feature different from the rest of the kitchen as an accent.

After removing the horrible wallpaper I chose a simple yet traditional beige paint color. Once again this paint color can be found throughout the majority of the house. What do you think of me painting the Main Kitchen walls a classic Country Golden yellow? Though the deck door is not perfect I changed it from its 1970's green to a much more modern simple white doorway just by using some paint.

If you like any of the products show visit my works website and I would be glad to help you create the kitchen of your dreams. www.OldWorldStoneImports.com, Kitchens Design
