  • Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dogs' Tails...Bugs and Worms Too!, This is my son Owen's warm and inviting nursery. It's a clean space evoking the theme around bugs, snails, worms and all the little slimy creatures that little boys love. My mom did the murals without any patterns or stencils. There is also a touch of the moon and stars overlooking our little creatures of nature. The daybed (Ikea) opens to a king sized bed so we wouldn't have to give up our guest bedroom. The custom paint really excentuates the shape of the room and gave us an opportunity to display our color palatte nicely. So far, it's been functional as well as esthetically pleasing for Owen. He loves to stare at the bugs (the stripes are pleasing to newborns)!, Nurseries Design

  • Gender Neutral in soft blue and yellow, Not knowing the gender of my third and final baby, I wanted to do something that would be soft and elegant without leaning towards any specific gender. We did a board and batten wall treatment and painted out all the furniture a soft cream. To keep it neutral, we decided to go with white, cream, light blues and a soft yellow for our colour scheme. We'll be adding walnut hardwood floors in the near future., Nurseries Design

  • Un Kitsch(Jean) Reno, Here's our teeny 64-square foot, 1980s 'blech' galley opened up into a warm, Parisian-style apartment kitchen for less than $12K. For our first renovation project, we played it safe by saving up & paying the experts to do the hard, dangerous, and/or expensive-to-repair stuff and focused on creating a warm space we knew we'd love for years to come., Kitchens Design

  • Checkerboard/Diamond Accent Wall, This room was decorated for our son, Brody. We wanted to combine a light denim blue with a chocolate brown. The brown we chose made the room look so dark that we decided to use it as an accent wall in a diamond pattern with the light blue which really brightened it up. The theme of the room is puppy dogs and is used in the accessories, bedding, wall decals, etc.

The crib is a handy-down from our nephew which our daughter used and now our son. It's functional but not quite the style I would now choose. It will be replaced with a twin-size bed when our son is ready for it.

The changing station was built by my dad for our daughter (had a white skirt that I wanted to use as a vanity which she could use as she got older). Her room now is filled and she didn't have the space so we continued to use it as a changing station and replaced the skirt with the same color in the bedding and curtains.

The puppy decals are peel-and-stick and can easily be removed when no longer working for our little boy.

We appreciate the comments!, Nurseries Design
