Some people have asked "How did you get the lighting under the bed?" The lighting is both inexpensive and easy to install. I secured rope lighting inside the bed frame using plastic clips that have an adhesive backing. ...costs about $10 and can be found at most hardware stores. The rope lighting is plugged into an outlet that is connected to a dimmer light switch and can adjusted by a remote control devise. Thanks for all your wonderful comments and encouraging 5-star ratings!

The paint on the walls is from Benjamin Moore. The original color was #1619 - Silver Mist. I had the paint store make it more of a gray-blue. So it ended up being a custom color. The pictures have been raised a bit and the silver E has been relocated. Thanks for looking!

This room used to be a Bathroom but we've opened up the wall and are in the process of turning it into what we call a "reading room". Complete with a daybed and TONS of pillows! :-

I am still working on this room. I am going to make a headboard. I was thinking about a black monogram headboard. I have to keep this room really simple because it is so tiny. Any suggestions would be appreciated:

Thanks for your complements! Please believe me when I say I am not a professional designer and never took a class in this kinda stuff. It's actually photos of my first home I recently completed. When I purchased the home about 6 years ago all I had was a dining room table base and a mattress. That's it. With a lot of TRIAL and ERROR and more ERROR finally things started to come together. I am encouraged by all your positive comments. Thanks!

Took the bed out of my spare room. Found some "trash" and turned it into treasure. Made the room a sitting room/office. My little escape. Enjoy.

After we finished our yellow room, my Husband and I decided to adventure to re-decorate our Master bedroom. We painted, laid down floor, added crown molding, recess lighting and a chandelier. After all that, we made the headboard (almost got a divorce over this..LOL.ever try to re-model a space with your spouse?..ah!, all the pillows and added a fire place which we painted and modified the part where the TV inserts since we couldn't find anything that would truly fit our fireplace or TV size (I should say my Husband painted and modified. I had a really hard time with the curtains, to be honest.. I do not like them down to the floor however, most people do.

I finally painted my master bedroom walls and added a few finishing touches. We painted all the walls a light gray but then decided the headboard wall needed a little something extra. We decided to try something a little different and paint that wall black. The pictures might not do it justice but in person the contrast of the glassy black headboard and the flat black wall looks really cool. The black accent wall also ties all the colors in the room together very well.
