A few have asked me about the headboard. It's made with MDF board (horizontal elements and metal strips (vertical elements. The MDF was cut into 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x width of your headboard, then painted, then screwed to 2 metal strips.

Depending on the height of the headboard, you may want to separate your construction into sections so it's easy to hang on the wall one section at a time. For example, if you want 24 horizontals total, you may want to attach 8 horizontals to the metal strips as a section. Make 3 of those and screw them one at a time on the wall. It's also more secured this way as the metal strips are not carrying as much weight. Screw the sections from the ceiling first and work your way down. Good luck!

How did you secure the wood to the iron strips? I would love to create a similar headboard but am just learning how to use a hammer (my icon is my inspiration!!

I love all your work! The headboard was very clever. The bathroom tile I have seen is a hotel here in Dallas and it too was on the walls. You are truly talented!!

The headboard is made of a number of 1-1/2 inch MDF pieces, secured onto 2 pieces of iron strips going vertical (painted the same color. Then the whole piece was screwed onto the wall.
