A tight squeeze with a queen size bed, this room was painted lavender with sage accents and ivory trim. A very busy color palette!
I decided to go tone on tone with taupe paint and draperies.
Grasscloth panels, set in picture-frame molding, provide texture and architectural detail.
The headboard was made using a recycled door from my dining room remodel.
Colorful bedding, with cinnabar and chocolate accents, help to break up the monotony.
A local artisan crafted the bamboo wall-hanging above the headboard, which serves as a focal point.
Using a simplified design helped me turn this busy bedroom into a restful retreat. Don Wright Jr. took the photo's. Thanks Don! For those who have asked, the bedding is from Target's Dwell collection.
