Some might call it clutter, I call it antiques and if I have it...I'm going to enjoy it!
I love the rich colors of gold and purple together so when I saw this border a few years ago I just had to have it. This room is very long and with a strangely placed door breaking up the room I had to put on my thinking cap. I disguised the door by placing the highboy in front after painting the wall behind to "blend in". To pull the room in some I used inexpensive bookcases from the office store to flank the bed and bought curtains from walmart to drape across the board my husband stained to match the bookcases and over the cases themselves. I also used the same as windowtreatments and a shower curtain (see other pics). I widened the effect of the border by painting a stripe across the walls larger than the border and then used gold gilt to handpaint the mottled effect on the stripe. Antique accents finish the room.
