About This Space

I was inspired by Candice Olsen to transform our bedroom into a comfortable monochromatic "hotel" like suite. We took out the existing ceiling and created a coffered ceiling, added bookcases and a fireplace.

Jacquigee - I would say that these are custom built-ins, crafted by the builder or a carpenter. They can be incredibly expensive. I received a quote a few years ago for somthing similar to these that came in at around $9,000.00. A much more economical way to do it is to buy preassembled units or units that you can assemble yourself that fit into your niches, then have a carpenter or handyman add front/side moldings, crowns, and any other embellishments to make it appear to be a built-in.
