I have the same problem since downsizing to an independent living facility. Thank you for the inspiration; I am going to do exactly the same thing. I actually signed onto HGTV to see if I could get any inspiration since I do not like my current arrangement. My daughter and son-in-law are coming this weekend to help me move furniture around. Thank you everyone for the positive comments!! : The bed is from Slumberland. I hung the curtains on the wall using the very cheap rods from Target. I hooked them all together and used 4 curtain panels from West Elm. The paint color is a grayed out lavender. It's Sherwin Williams Ash Violet SW6549.

What color are the walls? I see in one picture it's more like a gray but in one picture I see the color purple. I'm trying to figure it out because I really love the color and I'm painting my room today.

I think it's beautiful!! Chances are you won't spend a lot of time looking out the window in there anyway.....It looks cozy and elegant like chic boutique hotel room.

nice room! i just would not put the drapes in the room. The wall hanging thing especially not on top of drapes.
