you can have the tiles professionally painted. google tile painters. change the colors and then put a beautiful light to change the mood.

I have the exact same sink in two of my bathrooms and similar tile, so I'm guessing your house is from the 1940's. Suggestions all depend on your budget. It's unfortunate your fixtures are a pale pink and not white, that makes just sprucing it up a bit tough. If it was mine, and I had a small budget (which I do I'd paint everything wood and the radiator cover white, probably replace the vanity top, or the whole vanity with a piece of antique furniture, and then I'd find a really cool vintage looking wall paper and play up the kooky tiles. I'd make it look clean and fun, until I had the money & time to do something more radical. It looks like what is there is in good condition. Too bad I removed my two 1940's bathroom pictures, they started out like yours, I just played up what was there, and I had 4 star ratings on both.
