About This Space

This bathroom is in our 1930's Dutch Colonial home. Our hope was to make it look as if it were here since long ago. We used white subway tile as wainscoting and up to the ceiling in the shower/bath. The original tub was kept as it had a unique shape and design. The tile has a thin black border and a simple rope design and bull-nose finish.

After spending a fortune on paint colors which didn't work, I settled on Benjamin Moore Harbor Haze 2136-60. You will think it's grey but once on the wall... it's blue! Color can make me crazy and I obsess over it every time I paint a room. Grrrr! I hope this info saves someone the same level of anxiety.

You have done a beautiful job!! I gave you 5 stars. Every detail is in keeping with the period. The crystal was used in that time, so glad you have kept your door nobes too. The mirror is also beautiful. Love that tub!
