  • Modern French Marble Kitchen, We loved the layout of our kitchen but it needed updating from the 1980's tile counter tops and colors.

  • Infinity Kitchen, This kitchen breaks the typical mold by gently curving around the room. A moveable island defines the space in the open concept house. Originally the house had this galley style kitchen, with a partially melted microwave and a kitchen drain that simply emptied onto the ground below. To open up the space and create a more functional work space, I created an L-shaped layout. The kitchen isn't very large, so in addition to creating a beautiful space, maximizing storage was crucial., Kitchens Design

  • Master Bathroom with a View, We recently (finally) renovated / remodeled our master bathroom that had been sitting gutted since the day we bought our house - over 3 1/2 years ago. We finally were able to borrow the lump sum needed to do this massive makeover. The issue with the original bathroom - other than the fact that it was super dated (green wallpaper) and yucky, was that the main drain was cracked and water was leaking to the floor below - into the walls and down to the floor. This is a second story bathroom and below it is the kitchen and dining room. Sadly the previous tenant was using the bathroom even with the broken drain pipes which had caused mold in the walls which we had to get professionally cleaned! Anyway, all that's in the past now and we have a fabulous modern (but comfortable) master bathroom that feels like an expensive hotel / spa and it even has a view of the bay and golden gate bridge!

feel free to follow our blog for the rest of our adventures in home makeover here - http://fixerwithaview.wordpress.com - we even have a blog section about how we almost got onto HGTV's curb appeal - shot the reveal and everything before our project was cancelled., Bathrooms Design

  • Master Suite, This is the master bedroom and bathroom in our 1400 sq. ft. condo. My goal was to design something that my husband and I would like, would maximize the space, and would be neutral enough to also appeal to buyers when we look to sell the unit in the next few years.

The wall color is Valspar 'Pirate Coast', the furniture is Vaughan-Bassett, the bedding is from Restoration Hardware, the shade is from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and the prints are from Homegoods.

  • Guest Bath-Mahogany Dresser with Vessel sink, We recently finished this bathroom remodel. My husband took a mahogany dresser that we purchased for $150.00. He completely refinished it and put seven coats of polyurethane to protect the top from water. When he cut the drawers down to accommodate the plumbing he detailed them so they would be completely usable. Some are deep so we still have good storage. We added a vessel sink with an oil-rubbed bronze faucet. Our floors are Tumbled Boticcino Marble. I made the shell/coral mirror with heavy duty hardware to support it on the wall. Color accents in towels, curtain and rug are Restoration Hardware Silver Sage., Bathrooms Design

  • Painting/glazing the kitchen walls and cabinets - IN PROCESS, I started with white walls kind of dirty white cabinets. The walls are now gold and I have painted the lower cabinets the same gold but am going to add a dark glaze to them as i dislike the sold color look . I have brass pulls and don't like them but before I buy new I'll take a shot at spray painting them black. The counters are white tile - only 5" tile with lots of grout that is impossible to keep clean and I plan to replace them with very large tiles. , Kitchens Design

  • Zen Bathroom on a Budget, I purchased a 1980's home that has great bones and a lot of potential. I was originally going to gut the entire room and start over but based on budget decided to do a facelift instead. There are a lot of materials and fixtures I've always wanted to try in a room and decided this was the project to use them in -- namely: granite tiles for the counter a vessel style sink and natural grass wallpaper.
