  • Bedroom with potential, just moved in. , I just moved into my first place and have yet to decorate or do much of anything except make the space somewhat functional. Please consider this my before picture. This is the master bedroom. Giant windows and neat woodwork.

There is also a space about 9'x9' above the WIC, shower, water closet, that I would be interested in making usable. , Bedrooms Design

  • My Recycled Redwood Project, We hauled this 20 yr old gazebo in the rain. It sat through a winter. Then gradually built a new base "box" of ext. plywood, for $10, got a new recycled glass door. The deck is all recycled redwood, has it's own foundation. We are not done here! Planter boxes are new 4x4 cedar from H Depot. Awning is recycled and keeps the deck 10 deg cooler. • Help me win him over to my side!, Here is my 9x9 guest room. Feels very boxy as it has 9' ceilings also. I want to make it a guest room/library; but hubby wants it to just remain guest room. I need some support and great ideas from all of you to help me sway him. There is crown molding and 6 panel doors already, and the floor is a light oak laminate. The yellow is not as bright as it appears in the pic. Both windows are large, roughly 62"x42". HELP ME!!!, Bedrooms Design

  • Guest Room, This is a very small guest room (only about 9x9). It was used as a storage room for the first 3 years we lived here (we even called it the "closet") before we decided to finally fix it up.

Here's what all we did in the room...
painted walls, ceiling, and closet; installed new ceiling fan/light combo; installed new A/C vent cover; installed all new outlet and switch plates; constructed and hung canopy; added daybed and pillows (I sewed about half of the pillows myself); added some wall art and accent pieces; hung new curtain rod and curtains w/ lace tiebacks that I made; removed closet door and hung curtains in its place.

The colors I was inspired to go with are shades of light blue and pale orange/gold. I was going for a shabby chic/old-fashioned/mis-matched kind of look. I don't know if I succeeded, but I'm happy with how it turned out. To add to the "vintage" feel I hung up some shabby chic picture frames with old pictures of me and my siblings., Bedrooms Design
