This mural includes children's songs, fables, nursery rhymes, and tons of tiny critters and animals to keep a baby entertained. I created this nursery for my first born son Reed. I was 8 months pregnant when I began painting it. This was my favorite project because it was the first time I got to create a project for my own child.

My home in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I love nature and enjoy my wild visitors who come by on a regular basis. Birds of all kinds black bears raccoons skunks foxes and even a mountain lion on occasion. My home looks down on the 'LIttle Paris of the South' Asheville and across the spectacular mountains that surround it.

Our journey of renovating our kitchen began in Feb-Mar 2008. It's Jan 2009 and what is left to do is the backsplash...on "to do list" for Spring 2009. We love our "new" kitchen!

We had an old-English themed Christmas this year in Faeryhollow. The English country/Victorian style that I favor really set the stage for our celebration. We had a rare white Christmas (think blizzard here in the mountains. We kept a roaring fire in our fireplace and enjoyed the aroma of a fresh Frazier fir and simmering wasail as we kept warm inside.

A 20 X 20 OPEN AREA TO USE FOR YOUR BLANK CANVAS OF DESIGN AND IMAGINATION,,,,,,I WOULD LIKE A STORAGE CLOSET, WHEELED WORK TABLE, SHELVES IN CORNER, 2 ROLLING DOUBLE SIDE WALLS FOR SHOWING ART WORK,,,, I AM 71 YEARS OLD AND AM ON A SET INCOME AND KNOW THIS IS A LOT TO ASK, BUT IT IS MY LIFE DREAM, TO HAVE A ART SPACE WHERE I DO NOT HAVE TO WORK OUTSIDE WITH THE WIND AND IN SUMMER IN YUMA CANNOT WORK AT ALL. THIS IS TO HELP IN OUR LATTER YEARS, IN HOPES OF SELLING, I HAVE WON AWARDS AND SOLD MANY OVER THE PAST ALMOST 2 YEARS OF PAINTING. THE SNOW BIRDS ARE MY BEST CUSTOMERS AND WILL RETURN IN OCT, I HOPED TO BE READY WITH MY STUDIO, BUT KNOW THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE.........WHAT A WONDERFUL DREAM THIS IS TO ME AND A DESIRE OF MY HEART.

Thanks to Outdoor Space Designer, Scott Johnson, my dreary townhouse courtyard has been transformed into the perfect retreat. He created a tranquil, serene setting that incorporates nature's elements of fire, water and beauty. It has become a great gathering place for family and friends to enjoy each other's company while relaxing and appreciating the peaceful atmosphere. Scott's vision and design far exceeded any expectation that I had for this small space!

This is the biggest room in our 1920's condo. We love entertaining in it but it feels so empty still. Don't mind the dog crate next to the table.... hopefully Phil our Basset hound will be able to live without it soon! Also, we moved a chair in there for the time being as it would normally be where are Christmas tree is in the office/sunroom right now.

Dijon + Red Just moved in July 2008 Painted 3 walls a dijon mustard and 1 wall (headboard wall antique red. We put many coats of red on and that seam still shows through. We are on very low budget so we literally had money to paint our existing furniture (grandmother's antiques and we bought inexpensive curtains from Target.

Some may have seen some of the individual posts from this home, but this is the house in its entirety. If you are looking to sell, knowing that spending some up front can net huge rewards in the end. This beach home had won architectural awards when it was first built, but had not been remodeled in 25 years! So some renovations were in order before it could be sold to net a top dollar sale. With a $28,000 investment we added literally $250,000 to the original appraised value. It sold in 1 day for $150,000 over the asking price for $1,175,000. Not a bad return on investment! That included remodeling the kitchen, all the bathrooms, the fireplace, new carpeting, new paint, and even the appliances. Here is a tour of the before and afters of the renovated and staged home. It was a fun project, and with a view like that, it was not a hard gig to do! Hope you find some inspiration whether you are selling or just looking some budget friendly ideas.
