  • Updated 40's Vintage Kitchen, Wanting to keep the flavor of our little vintage 1940's kitchen while bringing it into the new millennium, we refurbished the original cabinets with their wonderful period details and constructed some new ones to match which accommodate new commercial-grade appliances. We added soapstone counters, a farmhouse-style sink, a subway tile back splash and a true linoleum, non-vinyl, floor in keeping with the period. The window seat is also original to the room and the pale robins egg blue color on the ceiling is one of my favorite features., Kitchens Design

  • My eclectic kitchen, This kitchen is in an 18th century log house that I rebuilt on my property. It was done on a tight budget and has many reused items in it. I took box store unfinished cabinets and added moldings, beadboard and cool hardware. The countertops are black granite tiles with stainless steel edging. The backsplash is beadboard. Being the cook that I am, I wanted a chef's kitchen but still fitting with the age of the house. I think it has a good mix of old and new. I spent around $2000.00 to do this project and worked on it for about 5 weeks. , Kitchens Design

  • New Retro, I custom built my Victorian Cottage house in 04 but knew I wanted my kitchen to be somewhat retro but new as well. The red arched wall set the tone for what followed. An original restored 1940's Okeefe & Merritt Stove I bought on the internet during the building process also set the tone for the red color scheme. , Kitchens Design
