  • The sad pink bathroom, This bathroom was last done around the 20s I think. It has a toilet and tub. No shower. No power outlets. The toilet only works if I plunge it. The faucet has cold water only -the hot side is broken. The ceiling is falling down. The light fixture is funny looking. There is one light over the sink - its not good light at all! There is a radiator in the corner. There is no cabinetry, no drawers, no place to put a towel or a blow dryer. We use the bathroom as a closet and store stuff in the tub. I clean it out for parties so it looks less bad. , Bathrooms Design

  • Modern and Organized Office/Crafts Room!, It took me three months to design my crafts room and office. I looked for versatile storage, that was neat and organized and easily accessible. I wanted the paint to be bold and vibrant, but not annoying. I also created various areas in the room for certain crafts like; scrapbooking, gift wrapping, painting, sewing, and bow making. I love this room and spend hours everyday creating! , Home Offices Design

  • INTERIORS, The floorplan was designed by my wife, and most of the interior furniture and artwork were selected by me.
Because this is an area near the ocean that can get battered by hurricanes, we chose to have a one foot thick concrete shell, with rebar running through it, bolting the roof to the house. This shell was then faced with grey brick. The depth of these walls affords each window its own, built-in window seat.
The main part of the house is designed around an open floor plan with an unobstructed view from the living room in the front to a sitting room and studio at the back of the house. The master bedroom and bath come off of one side of this space and a guest bedroom and bath are off the other. Uniquely, there is a room behind the open galley kitchen which houses a second workspace for computer, books, flat files for artwork and prints, floor to ceiling open shelving to display not only my figures but many other pieces of art.
It`s all on one floor and is extremely livable.
There is also a two-car garage. , Other Spaces Design

  • Arts and Crafts Re-Interpreted, This is our living room and dining room. We wanted it to be traditional with an Arts and Crafts flavor, in caracter with the Tudor revival style popular when it was built in 1930.
We chose a mossy green wall color, again a very popular choice from the 30s but spiced it up with apple green and purple accents and upholstered furniture. The inspiration was the beautiful carpet in the living room.
The artwork and photographs are all items handed down from our families. It is wonderful to be able to work these cherished items in to our cottage without it looking too much like Grandma's place!
We thought the dining room needed some style of it's own, so we bought some standard oak stock at the local home center, stained it to match the original window millwork and created the dado panels. We got rid of all the drapes, opting instead for the clean, spare look of wooden 2" blinds.
The floors are all original also, random width pine planks with pegs.
The result is a very restful, comforting space that has some elegance without being too formal., Living Rooms Design
