Our home is on a wooded hill and the surrounding "yard" is all slopes except for one area. There are large boulders and all sorts of rock all around the property. The views are gorgeous to a southern girl who loves the snow.

Some people have asked "How did you get the lighting under the bed?" The lighting is both inexpensive and easy to install. I secured rope lighting inside the bed frame using plastic clips that have an adhesive backing. ...costs about $10 and can be found at most hardware stores. The rope lighting is plugged into an outlet that is connected to a dimmer light switch and can adjusted by a remote control devise. Thanks for all your wonderful comments and encouraging 5-star ratings!

This is a bedroom that I have recently redone for a very good friend and client. Using a soothing color palette of seagreens, creams, and muted golds, I combined elegant lighting, dupioni silk draperies, and custom bedding to create this luxurious retreat for this couple.

This was an open floor plan home in San Francisco that I was hired to stage. The majority of the main floor was painted a very dark, charcoal-taupe color and was furnished by the client's designer with often very good but somewhat moody furniture, art and accessories. I had the main floor repainted a soft, creamy neutral color, then furnished it with some of the client's existing designer furniture and some of my staging furniture along with some great art from Joan Elan Davis.

I really loved the traditional pink and green color scheme but wanted a more sophisticated and elegant version that would transitition well into a big girl room. Sweet personal touches make the room warm and enjoyable, I love spending time with Adalyn in her room.

I am naturally a bit messy so I wanted to create a closet that was highly organized and worked based on how I used things on an every day basis. The deep green color on the wall is the accent wall color in my bedroom and this closet sits right next to that wall so it worked out perfectly! I put a "closet within a closet" behind mirrored doors and hide stuff I don't use behind those doors. I put a stool in the closet so I can dress and undress (and put on my shoes in there. I really love the new space!

I finally painted my master bedroom walls and added a few finishing touches. We painted all the walls a light gray but then decided the headboard wall needed a little something extra. We decided to try something a little different and paint that wall black. The pictures might not do it justice but in person the contrast of the glassy black headboard and the flat black wall looks really cool. The black accent wall also ties all the colors in the room together very well.

Found these red candlesticks(accented with iron and couldn't resist putting together another tablescape. :- I liked juxtaposing the informal iron and natural elements with the more formal sterling and crystal. If you like tablescapes I have several others posted at RMS. Oh and don't forget to have yourself a 'Bug Bite' at the end of the tour! Hope you enjoy :- and if you have time I'd love for you to come visit and leave me a note at: http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

I created this nursery for our baby girl, who is due next month (in May, and customized virtually every aspect of the room. All of the crib bedding, drapes, pillows, and throws are custom made and sewed by my mom and I. Also, the bassinet was handmade as well (using an inexpensive frame. I painted the room myself, and customized each item (wall art, picture frames, crib mobile, etc using paint, trim, and imagination!! I hope you enjoy the nursery!! I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!! The only thing that is missing is a matching rug for the open floor space!

I really didn't want the 'cookie cutter' baby nursery, as matchy-matchy is just not my thing. I am absolutely obsessed with the color teal and knew that her nursery was going to be teal. However, I was first inspired by the modern feel of the spring green pendant by Oilo that I found at a boutique, but was able to negotiate for $100 off when I found it cheaper online. Then when I found the curtain fabric I fell in love as it was my 'perfect' teal! We had a friend's dad add the wainscotting and crown molding for us which I feel adds a girly and traditional touch to this modern nursery. I was also inspired by a polka dot fabric which brought together the teal, spring green and a yummy (and girly bubble gum pink (My husband insisted we have pink in the room. I had someone make the pillows and curtains for me and commissioned my husband to take the photos of the pink flowers that are framed above the changing table. For the decal, I ordered it off etsy without the vinyl flowers and added the 3-d ones available at bedbath&beyond to make it a little more special. I painted a cheap white bookshelf from target to match the pendant and cribskirt, and got an soft rug off overstock.com. I purchased the crib and changing table on Black Friday for ridiculously cheap and splurged on the custom "Best" brand chair which ended up being a gift from my mom. One of the finishing touches is my husband's old rocking chair.

Inspired by a photo in a design magazine. Love the way it turned out. I really like the ice blue, red, and black together. The carpet tiles are from FLOR, headboard from Target, bedding from Pottery Barn and Walmart!

Took the bed out of my spare room. Found some "trash" and turned it into treasure. Made the room a sitting room/office. My little escape. Enjoy.

We have been restoring a 1910 craftsman bungalow in the historic Pasadena California area for the last 8 years. Just the backyard is left thank godness. I have attached a photo what it looked like when we bought it and another from just after finishing the landscaping. The first picture is what it looks like today really today. The tree looks more obsuring in the picture than it is in person and it gives some much needed shade since our house faces west. These old houses can get HOT!!!
